This position is a combination role. You will be our Design Department Manager, supervising approximately 7 staff members, as well as a Senior Project Manager/Architect with projects of your own.
As Design Department Manager, duties include:
Management of the Design Department (project oversight, job assignments, timesheet review, etc).
Assist with proposal writing
Supporting sales calls, assisting with bringing in new business
As Senior Project Manager/Architect, duties include:
Construction building code and zoning analysis, review and compliance
Schematic design and construction document development with detail
Supervision and coordination with designer/drafters and consultants including planning, preparing, checking and reviewing work
Developing and managing project design costs
Client meetings acting as our company / project representative
Preparation of administrative documents such as meeting minutes, change orders, punch lists, RFI’s and other correspondence.

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
20+ years of commercial construction design experience (laboratory design experience a massive PLUS!)
10 years supervising others
Ability to sign and seal drawings – must be a registered architect in the State of NJ (or NCARB with ability to quickly become registered)
Experience with design, production and coordination of construction documents
History managing architecture and engineering teams
Solid understanding of NJ building code
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit
Communication skills to establish and maintain good vendor relationships, and to work with a team to accomplish related results
Decision making and estimating skills to develop budgets
