Immediate full-time positions for Architects / Designers / Urban Designers
KGP design studio is a small Urban Design Architecture firm in Washington, DC, focusing on the public realm and transportation. We are passionate about our role in the transformation as urban areas step up to the current challenges. We are looking for team members to join us and share these goals. Small but impactful, KGP is changing how we move in, around, and experience DC and the region producing facilities such as major urban spaces/corridors, transit and rail stations, active mobility facilities, TOD plans, and bridges.

Positions for Architects / Designers / Urban Designers at our Washington, DC office are immediately open for applicants with the following experience:
Expertise and Abilities
Five years minimum professional experience
Bachelor's degree in Architecture is required. A Master's degree is a plus.
Extensive professional Revit Architecture experience, and Microsoft Office experience are required.
Autodesk products, Microstation, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite experience, are a plus.
Management of projects, construction administration, and writing skills for reports and proposals.
Must have strong management, organizational, and interpersonal skills and experience coordinating with architectural teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.
Excellent understanding of construction details, methods, and materials.
Architect license and LEED accreditation are a plus.
Responsibilities:
Manage the Urban Design of large and small public realm projects such as Infrastructure/Station Planning and Design, Urban Corridor Plan, and Pedestrian and Active Mobility Facilities.
Manage Architectural and Urban Design projects such as a major intermodal station, station design (commuter, light rail, BRT, and heavy rail), bridge design, commercial, and residential.
Progress the project’s vision by leading and collaborating with team members, clients, public agencies, and stakeholders with graphically and verbally clear, concise communication and presentations.
Participate in design and production using Revit BIM and coordinate production of architectural documents, construction documents, and specifications.
Manage the development of projects from concept to construction documentation with a balance of design and technical expertise.

KGP design studio, a design-focused Architecture and Urban Design firm located in DC since 2000. While we are small, we are engaged in a broad range of public and private sector projects, including several high-profile projects in the DC area. Public transit is our focus, including architectural design and planning for transit networks such as Metro or Purple Line to station design for facilities such as Union Station, DC or Penn Station, and NYC. Also, in our purview and a critical component of any of these systems, is public space and facilities incorporating walkability and active mobility. As a result, we work as a collaborative design team with multiple stakeholders on design issues with impact at the scale of the city, public plaza, or a street corridor to architectural or urban design challenges of a particular structure, such as a TOD residential project or a security structure for active mobility.
