About Us: Hoedemaker Pfeiffer is a medium-sized Seattle architecture and interior design firm. We specialize in the design of finely-crafted custom houses and renovations. Currently, we are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Architect, Project Manager who can contribute to the culture and design excellence of Hoedemaker Pfeiffer.
Required Qualifications:
Ten or more years of architectural office experience, with at least 6 years in high-end custom residential required
Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience
Experience with complete project delivery through all architectural phases from schematic design through construction administration, including the management of at least one high-end residential project from start to finish
Experience managing complicated land use and critical areas permitting with well-versed knowledge of single-family building codes
Excellent communications skills
Ability to perform analysis of design and planning studies
Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently
Must have strong design and technical skills that include proficiency with materials, specifications, construction detailing, critical thinking and problem solving
Must be comfortable communicating directly with clients, contractors, and consultants
Fluency in AutoCAD and Sketchup
Must live in the Seattle Metro area and be willing to work in the office 3-days or more per week.
Must not require sponsorship to work in the US
Added Qualifications:
Licensure preferred but not required
Hand sketching, Photoshop, InDesign, Enscape and Excel skills a plus
Permitting experience in Seattle and WA state a plus
Responsibilities:
Lead project documentation, permitting, consultant coordination, scheduling, and project tracking from Schematic Design through Construction Administration
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Lead coordination with contractors and consultants
Support the project design process in collaboration with Partners and Principals
Delegate to other team members and provide oversight, scheduling, and monitoring of junior staff
Present directly to clients on design and technical solutions, as required
Lead the creation of presentation materials with your team
