The Architect will manage and supervise a team of employees managing facilities portfolio of projects in ES.
Responsibilities
·Support all City departments in technical aspects for the design of the facilities
CIP projects
·Provide leadership and mentorship to the facilities team in the ES
·Conduct team meetings, distribute work assignments, track project schedules, and provide quarterly updates
·Assist with negotiation of consultant contracts, review engineering documents, renderings, for code compliance, functionality and architectural features
·Present project design to Stakeholders
·Prepare a plan to implement the City's CIP projects for the facilities team
·Prepare RFQ’s, participate in the A/E selection process, communicate with City departments on the planning aspects of the projects
·Help City Departments with prioritizing projects, prepare individual
project schedules, budgets, and the project implementation plan
·Prepare/review memos and presentations
·Attend the public meetings including stakeholder meetings, community groups, committees, and boards to provide status updates on various City facilities CIP projects
·Perform project inspections with the construction inspection team during the project construction phase
·May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Skills, Licenses, Other Requirements
·Must be licensed to practice as a registered Architect in the State of Texas
·Must possess ability to read and understand building codes, contracts, designs, and detailed architectural documents
and construction specifications.
Qualifications
·Requires a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Architecture or similar field
·Minimum of six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience as a professional architect, including three (3) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility
·A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered
·A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
