Architectural Designer

Kevin Browne Architecture is a small, dynamic architectural firm, specializing in a wide variety of residential projects throughout Maine and New England. KBA’s design approach is the same, whether it may be new construction or renovation – We create timeless architecture inspired by synthesizing New England aesthetics and sensitivities with modern amenities and efficiencies to create a new vernacular style. Our work environment offers flexibility with hours and working remote.The ideal candidate is creative, problem solves, highly motivated, enjoys working in a congenial collaborative atmosphere, high attention to detail, and advanced technical ability for completing construction documents. The candidate also needs to have the confidence and aptitude to independently run projects from beginning to end. Equal enthusiasm for building design and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Architectural related field, B.Arch/M.Arch preferred

• 5+ years in an architecture practice with experience in technical design and detailing of residential projects.

• Proficient with BIM – ArchiCad or Revit. Preferable ArchiCad.

• Technical ability for completing construction documents using ArchiCad.

• Experience detailing wood buildings (type 5 construction).

• Strong design, and graphic skills – Adobe product proficiency a plus.

• Excellent problem solver and independent thinker with good listening skills and strong     follow through.

• Experience and knowledge of building science and construction assemblies.

• Confidence in hand and digital sketching.

• The ability to self-direct, to manage multiple tasks and to work well under deadlines.

• Strong verbal and graphic communication, organizational and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist design team in all aspects of residential design and documentation.

• Documentation of existing buildings.

• Developing construction documents.

• Integrating structural engineering specifications into construction documents.

• Coordinate w/ engineer, landscape architect, interior designer, team consultants.
