The Construction Administrator (CA) is to represent the Owner and FIRM and be the primary point of contact for the Contactor and Owner’s consultants during construction. This will include participating in Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings and preparing meeting minutes when the Architect is required to by contract.
Coordinate between design team and all consultants as needed for construction related issues, Owner required changes, etc. This may/will include review of the project prior to the CA phase to gain an understanding of the project’s scope, existing conditions, etc.
CA must be able to work to directly solve problems when encountered. Report these problems and proposed solutions to or Seek guidance/approval from CA Manager or design team.
Strong knowledge base in project design, construction documentation, construction practices, materials, methods and building trades.
Capable of creating hand drawings/sketches for communicating information between Design team and the field.
Review and process contractor’s PCO, CO’s, pay apps, and sign of on project status documents.
Receive, track, review and process RFI’s, submittals and shop drawings. This will included coordinating consultants on responses and reviews.
Familiar with current version LEED as it relates to construction materials and methods.
Help in developing and presenting ‘lessons learned’ training for office.
Registered Architect or degree in related field.
10+ years experience in multiple areas of Architecture with minimum 2 years experience in Construction Administration with multiple projects working at the same time.
Able to travel to project sites across Southwest Florida.
Work with and support the Project Manager/Project Architect(s) while having the ability to operate/work alone as may sometimes be needed.
Perform site walk, interior, exterior and through multiple floors/levels to make observations and create necessary observation reports.
The CA must have knowledge of architectural practices and principles specifically related to construction administration, the ability to review and quality control the construction documents.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to give and receive detailed instruction.
Able to develop and maintain good working relations with GC, Sub-contractors, suppliers, etc., while working under pressure and multiple deadlines.
Strong problem solving skills with hard attention to details(s).
Familiar with Florida Building Code, Federal Fair Housing, ANSI, TAS, etc.
Base knowledge of AutoCAD and/or REVIT systems.
Working knowledge or better of WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, BlueBeam, Procore,
Experience with wood-framed construction projects.
