Flad is growing and we are looking for a Director of the Boston Office. This strategic role's primary focus is to grow Flad's depth and breadth in the Science & Technology market along with providing day-to-day operations leadership of the Boston office. Flad is a national architectural firm, with ten offices across the country, specializing in science, healthcare, academic, and workplace spaces. Flad is a team of creative, intelligent, energetic people who help our clients tackle the issues that change people's lives.
How Your Days Will Be Spent:
Providing day-to-day leadership with consulting input from Flad leadership.
Identify, cultivate, and engage new science clients to secure new projects.
Support marketing, project delivery needs, including efforts such as project management, strategic planning, business development.
Enhance office practices, performance, staff recruitment, and retention.
Attend, support, and contribute to national Science and Technology and academic practice initiatives including participation at reoccurring internal team meetings and annual business development planning efforts.
Identify, market, and secure new project work for the Boston office as well as the overall Flad organization.
Guide the team in the preparation of responsive and appropriate solutions with respect to client needs, best practices, and creativity and innovation.
What You Bring to this Role
Minimum 15 years architectural experience with 5 or more years of recent project management and business development experience with S&T facilities. Projects completed with multiple clients ideal.
Previous office and or studio leadership experience preferred.
Proven record of effective business development and project management with the ability to approach clients, win project work, maintain on-going client relations, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Bachelor's degree in in architecture or related field, required.
Master's Degree in architecture preferred.
Registered Architect in the United States or National Council of Architecture Registration Board (NCARB) certified preferred.
LEED Accreditation preferred.
Knowledge of MS Office required.
Ability to travel to clients job sites as needed.
