WELCOME TO SANTA MONICA COLLEGE!  The Instructional Computer Lab Technician - Design and Media Technology will perform a critical role by providing instructional support and computer lab oversight for students enrolled in the College's Architecture and Interior Architectural Design programs. These positions are scheduled to work 40 hours per week, 12 months per year at the Center for Media and Design.

IMPORTANT: The schedules for these positions may vary based on instructional needs. Employees in these positions will be paid 5% more than the stated salary due to the variable work schedule.
 
What You Will Bring to the College
We are seeking individuals with experience utilizing specialized software programs to perform work related to architecture and/or interior architectural design, which included working with AutoCAD, Revit, or Rhino, in addition to the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premier Pro, Audition, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator).

In addition to technical knowledge and experience in one of the areas mentioned above, the ideal candidate will possess effective interpersonal and conflict management skills, and will demonstrate creativity, adaptability, and effective organizational skills to plan and implement instructional activities in the lab. The selected candidate will be a continuous learner who stays updated on new developments in industry-specific software and best practices.

Education Requirement:

Associate degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, Animation, or a closely related field. A bachelor's degree is preferred. 

Experience Requirement:

Two (2) years of experience in architecture, interior design, digital media, or animation that included using related software programs. Experience providing instructional support in a higher education setting is desirable.
