The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, able to work independently at office and client site, and be eager to develop skills as part of the team. The candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in CAD design with experience in commercial office space planning and construction document management. The company has growth potential for a detailed, organized person with great skills.
Skills Needed:
- Strong familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
- Knowledge of construction codes and building practices
- Strong client management and project coordination skills
- Internal motivation to push projects to completion on or ahead of schedule and on or under budget
- Experience with construction documents
- NCIDQ certification preferred
Regular Work Activities
- Existing condition field measurements and sketches
- Create drawings in AutoCAD
- Select project designs and finishes
- Incorporate construction notes into drawings to establish contract documents
- Collaborate with clients and staff to resolve any issues or answer questions
- Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance
- Handle complex designing and drafting assignments with minimal supervision
- Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required
- Lead or work with team through all phases of project delivery to include feasibility, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation
- Manage multiple project’s drawing sets and redline changes and be able to maintain records of drawing changes and communicate them across multiple consultants and vendors
- Maintain, create, and follow checklists to ensure consistency and quality of work as well as reviewing all work prior to releasing as complete
