Design Architect

This individual will work with the Design and Development department of Bass Pro Shops to produce store designs, resorts, mixed use projects, boat plants, restaurants, bowling facilities, and many other needs for the owner and founder of the company. Designs will focus on the customer experience with an emphasis on meaningful detailing and authenticity. An Architecture degree with at least five years design experience in an architectural firm is required.

This individual will be required to produce drawings to clearly communicate a design idea by means of the skills listed below. Drawings must be clear and meaningful. Many of the design ideas will be generated by others or a team. The individual must be willing to produce useable architectural drawings from these concepts. Once the owner has reviewed and directed the refined intent of the project, the individual must be willing to react quickly to make adjustments for further review.

SKILLS:
-Ability to hand draw and sketch conceptual drawings to communicate design ideas quickly.
-Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, Lumion, Revit and Microsoft series of programs. 
-Strong communication skills and team player.
-Visionary thinker, creative, willing to look beyond the typical and be inventive.
-Able to read, understand and produce meaningful architectural drawings. Drawings will be used to communicate design intent to others for full production and execution.
-Able to check construction documents for accuracy and design conformity.
-Will have a need to work with the in house fabrication shop to produce designs for lights, railing, gates, fixtures, furniture, etc.
-Travel will be required to visit store sites on occasion.
