POSITION SUMMARY Develops creative conceptual, schematic and design development solutions. Displays the ability to work the Senior Project Designer to study design options and present to the team. Responsible for guiding the team through implementation of schematic design into early design development documentation. Strong work ethic is dedicated to design excellence is essential.
JOB FUNCTIONS DESIGN • Applies intermediate elements and principles of design. • Understands overall project goals, constraints and client values. • Works in tandem with Senior Project Designer evaluating client project requirements. • Understands scope, construction budget and schedule requirements. • Creates SD presentation, drawings, models and narratives. • Ability to integrate elements that influence site design. • Prepares client presentation packages. • Participates in internal design reviews. • Facilitates firm goals of design excellence and execution. TECHNICAL • Knowledge of intermediate building materials, constructability, costs and codes. • Works with consultants throughout SD and DD. • Evaluates design alternatives based on site and code requirements. • Applies intermediate building technology and systems to design applications. • Performs tasks according to G|P Design Standards. MANAGEMENT • Organizes and plans accordingly to execute tasks. • Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions and legibility. • Takes accountability and ownership for job functions. • Participates in marketing efforts. • May lead design presentations to prospective clients. • Works alongside functional organization of the project team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION | LICENSURE • Professional Degree in Architecture. • Does not have to have professional licensure. EXPERIENCE • 2-6 Years • Proficiency in Revit, graphic design, and 3D visualization software. • Basic understanding of design principles and theory. • High level of creativity, innovative thinking and problem solving. • Strong sketching, graphic and computer skills. • Displays tremendous drive and work ethic. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to collaborate with team members and follow instructions. • Participation in program requirements for Intern Development Program (IDP). • LEED AP or within 6 months of hire.
