Intern Architects and Designers

HapstakDemetriou+ is currently seeking several Intern Architects and Designers with 2 to 4 (two to four) years of experience. Intern Architects and Designers works from the designs of others under supervision and perform routine and limited architectural and design assignments.

• Perform specific/limited portions of assignments using prescribed methods. 
• Under general supervision, work from the design of others and performs routine architectural and design assignments. 
• Assignments likely will include higher-level work for training/development purposes.
• Ability to work in a team environment with good collaboration skills.
• Excellent presentation abilities.
• Knowledge of FF&E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials a plus.
• Flexibility to focus on several project tasks or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages.
• Ability to communicate ideas visually & verbally, and take direction quickly.
• Strong organization, communication, and relationship skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Ability to work with team leaders and take direction.
• Understands the importance of good research.
• Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) preferred. Proficiency in ArchiCAD is preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA or NAAB-accredited program.

Project Architects

HapstakDemetriou+ is currently seeking Project Architects with 4 (four) or more years of experience. Licensed architects who exercise independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques, solve problems when encountered, and receive guidance on complex projects.

HapstakDemetriou+ is also seeking unlicensed architects in the process of becoming licensed who are competent in all conventional aspects of architecture. The aspiring architect performs work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. 

• Independent problem solver. 
• Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex issues and supervisory approval on proposed project plans.
• Experienced in code research and permitting navigation.
• Proficiency in generating effective meeting minutes.
• Experienced in construction documents and technical detailing.
• Responsible for overall management of a variety of projects with the assistance of team members including: design, documentation, scheduling, budgeting, and project coordination.
• Strong knowledge of the design process with the ability to assist Project Managers with projects through all phases from conception to completion.
• Assist in making contributions to developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Problem solving through all aspects of the design process.
• Excellent design presentation and technical skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

Senior Project Architects & Project Managers

HapstakDemetriou+ is currently seeking Senior Project Architects & Project Managers with 8 (eight) or more years of experience. A licensed architect is preferred but not required. Bachelor/Master Degree in architecture from an accredited program; creates project designs and plans for all phases of projects and coordinates building design consultants while monitoring drawings.

Performs within a design team in a self-directed manner in multiple aspects of the Architecture & Design process including but not limited to the design & documentation of all phases, the preparation of materials, and construction administration activities within established budgets, schedules, and programmatic requirements. Senior Project Architects and Project Managers will lead multiple projects and liaise directly with clientele and consultants.

• Develops solutions and creates project designs and plans to client.
• Initiates and creates project designs and plans for all phases of one or more projects and has responsibility for preparing presentation and design drawings.
• Coordinates all trades and agencies related to the design while monitoring drawings.
• Involved in all phases of architecture and design, including substantial and varied experience in project planning.
• Ability to work in a team environment with good collaboration skills.
• Excellent presentation abilities.
• Basic knowledge of FF&E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials.
• Flexibility to focus on multiple clients with a variety of project types, and on multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development.
• Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.

• Proficiency in schedule management and staff work load management.
