We have Texas position openings in our Conroe and Bryan offices. We seek Project Managers and Project Architects to support public sector projects including, but not limited to, municipal, county other governmental buildings such as community centers, courthouse facilities, parks and recreation centers, police and fire stations and city halls. Responsibilities will include client and project team management and project life cycles for a variety of project sizes.
Managing complex tasks on medium to large size public projects.
Plan, organize, and direct work throughout life of the project to successfully deliver assignment to client.
Keep Principal in Charge informed of progress on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables. Understands limits of the decision-making responsibilities and role.
Lead clients and project team to assure project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
Assist in negotiation and development of project agreements.
Develop and manage project budget, schedule, and overall work plan to realize target financial performance.
Mentor Project Coordinators and motivate project teams.
Assure that Project Management tasks are completely on time and properly documented.
Lead project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, contractor and subcontractors.
Manage and track change orders, applications for payment by contractors and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.
Direct client invoicing and effectively manage collections.
Capabilities and Credentials
Capable of simultaneously supporting one or more Principals in Charge on multiple public projects.
Thorough understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards.
Take direction well; however, proactively takes appropriate action without requiring continued direction.
Effectively manages multiple deadlines and priorities.
Team player with client, entire project team and contractor.
Passionate about design and collaboration.
Effective negotiator and communicator.
Prefer experience with Revit; competency with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and rendering software.
Ability to edit specifications to suit project requirements.
Successful candidate(s) will work in a collaborative office setting alongside team members with other professional disciplines. Field work may require travel to and from job locations and exposure to outside and undeveloped environments.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Environmental Design, or related field.
Registered Architect (Texas or able to obtain Texas reciprocity).
Minimum of 5 years of experience.
LEED AP or LEED Green Associate preferred, but not required.
