Summary of responsibilities: This position requires a licensed Design Architect to help provide firm level professional Architecture design services and mentorship to junior Architecture candidates.
General responsibilities include but not limited to:
Understands Ellumus culture and each team member’s strengths and weaknesses; sets goals and objectives for Ellumus’s domestic success; elevates and brands Ellumus as an exemplary, frontier leader in architecture and interior design.
Leads and actively participates in the design process of Ellumus professional practice primarily in the domestic market for Architecture and Interior design related projects through all phases of professional services including but not limited to: scheduling, budgeting, setting performance standards, leading design effort, managing design related client communications and overseeing final project deliverables, reviewing and approving final design packages, stamping and submitting for permit as necessary.
Supervises/manages design team members during the implementation of design process to ensure clarity and quality of initial design concept is maintained through detail level.
Applies knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing and procedures, zoning, building codes and building materials to all Ellumus Projects. Direct activities to prepare drawings and specification documents for Conceptual, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration Phase of a domestic project.
Engages actively in the growth and professional development of firm wide design team members ; provides consistent mentorship to IDP candidates on a regular basis.
This position may require domestic and overseas travels for client meetings and/or project presentations on the needed base.
The following skills and qualities are expected:
Experiences: 8-15 years experience in the field of Architectural Planning and Design both domestically and internationally; Substantial experience with domestic Retail Mixed-use projects;
Professional Licensure: Preferred to be a licensed architect in Washington State (two or more States a plus)
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to connect and market to domestic clients for new business opportunities; self motivation, outstanding ability to sell, strong writing and presentation skills, excellent negotiation, closing and follow-up skills;
Ability to lead project teams and effectively manage project schedules and budgets, as well as work independently and as a member in a team oriented environment
Extensive experience and knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
Experienced with the most up to date Architectural Software/programs such as Revit, Rhino, Adobe Suite, Blue Beam and etc.
