The Division of Disability Rights within the Agency of Human Rights & Community Partnerships (HRCP) is seeking an Architectural Access Manager.

The Agency of Human Rights & Community Partnerships (HRCP) is the umbrella agency for nine offices and one division, which all offer distinct services related to empower the community’s diverse groups. This agency creates opportunities for innovation to take root in local government and throughout the community in order to impact local challenges. The Denver Division of Disability Rights (DDDR) is responsible for implementing and enforcing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) within City government. Title II of the ADA ensures that individuals with disabilities have equal access and opportunities to all governmental activities, programs and services. DDDR also works closely with various community members and groups pertaining to issues related to people living with disabilities. Individuals living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Under supervision of Disability Rights Division Director, duties would include, but not be limited to the following:

• Provides quality control for project plan review, approval, and inspection services.
• Manages functional and operational areas, to include financial recommendations, related to architectural access for the City and County of Denver via the Denver Division of Disability Rights.
• Participates in code development.
• Provides management to Plan Reviewers, Project Inspectors, Project Managers and the Technical Interpretation Committee in relation to compliance with the ADA.
• Responsible for the creation and documentation of policies and procedures related to structural access throughout the City.
• Manages or provides supervision to designee to manage external contracts related to architectural access.
• Assists Title II ADA Coordinator and other relevant staff with content for Citywide ADA Liaison training.
• Works with Title II ADA Coordinator in self-evaluation of facilities and transition plan development and management.
• Represents the positions, initiatives and interests with a focus on the delivery of superior customer service; ensures staff is sufficiently knowledgeable and dynamic regarding customer service relating to people with disabilities, protocols, performance expectations and accessibility standards.
• Organizes and applies regulatory standards, procedures, systems and guidelines related to local, state, and federal accessibility standards.
• Implements policies, programs, operating procedures, and practices pertaining to architectural access and effectively manages operating costs. Ensures all budgets related to relative to physical access throughout the City remain at or below established targets.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
