Reporting to the Director of Casino Construction & Development, the Assistant Project Manager position assists in management of San Manuel Casino (SMC) related construction projects. As Assistant Project Manager you will be involved in multiple projects at one time in various phases of development including project delivery, scheduling, budgeting, profitability, subcontractor relations, document management and control, change management, forecasting/risk analysis, cost and schedule integration and reporting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Communicating with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals.
Contributing to the planning and development of projects.
Supporting the coordination and management of projects.
Researching information as required.
Performing administrative tasks such as preparing invoices, estimates, scheduling meetings, etc.
Keeping track of and reporting on project progress.
Completing any tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Director in an efficient and timely manner.
Coordinates project start up and close out meetings;
Assist in the daily monitoring of jobsite progression, ensuring that all phases of construction project are completed within specifications and on time with minimal disruption to the Reservation or Casino;
Communicates effectively with parties responsible for completing various phases of the project including architects, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and laborers;
Prepares written materials documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
Reviews a variety of construction-related information ensuring completeness of records.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
BS/BSCE Degree in Architecture, Development, Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
Minimum three (3) years’ construction project experience preferred.
Experience in the commercial construction industry preferred.
Proficiency with reading blue prints, plans, specs, contracts, purchase orders, change orders, etc.
Technical level experience with Microsoft Professional Office Tools such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Project Management software experience such as MS Project.
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
As a condition of employment with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Casino Construction & Development Department, incumbents are required to undergo and successfully pass pre-employment and annual post-employment background investigation including, but not limited to, Live-Scan fingerprinting, drug screening and criminal history background check.
A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
Additional Salary Information: Base salary plus bonus.
