Responsible for maintaining and coordinating the firm’s use of Building Information Modeling (Autodesk Revit), VR, Rendering, and 3D Design applications. The Manager supports our ongoing efforts to fully utilize BIM Software and emerging technologies, including virtual reality, rendering and digital modeling.
Maintains and updates firm practices and standards to optimize efficiency and accuracy of BIM production and digital design; includes maintenance and updates of Best Practices for the Design Process, staff training, file management standards, project set-up and support.
Works with project teams throughout Projects to facilitate the use of design and documentation tools.
Coordinates training, research and recommendations related to 3D Design technologies and digital design.
Coordinates with consultants to integrate their design/documentation methodologies with those chosen for the EDR portion of the project to facilitate consistent and reliable transfer of information.
Supervises firm IT consultant, coordinates IT system maintenance, software and hardware purchases, and updates to our server, network, software and hardware.
Develops and manages technology budget with Director of Finance.
Architecture or appropriate Technical degree required.
Knowledge and proven background in Autodesk Revit; interest and experience in emerging digital design and computation technologies and related software applications and practices.
Must be highly effective at implementing software programs, techniques, and procedures and have a desire to work in an entrepreneurial, architectural environment.
Must be self-motivated, resourceful, and organized.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), and strong team-oriented people skills; must be able to articulate BIM concepts and practices to all levels of design team.
Minimum 5 years of experience with digital design in architecture or a related field.
Ongoing education to maintain proficiency in field of architectural design software/implementation.
