The Community Studio Principal will lead a team of people within our Arlington office who specialize in the design and construction of community-based projects. You will have the opportunity to mentor and build a team of individuals dedicated to community projects, while collaborating daily with your team and leaders within the Arlington office. You will have access to a wide-range of resources as you partner on a regular basis with Community and Corporate leaders from across the firm.
Our ideal candidate possesses experience in seeking and securing important design opportunities and subsequently building sustainable relationships with a core sector of clients. The candidate should have experience in one or more of the following client types: Higher Education, K-12 Schools, Civic, and non-profit companies. It would be ideal if the candidate has expertise specifically in student housing, health-science buildings and educational facilities to build on the current strengths of our Community Studio. Additionally, it is important that you:
Create a strategic plan for developing new business, creating revenue and profitable growth;
Possess the skill of networking, seeking project opportunities and competing for those projects;
Have a passion for serving Community clients and enjoy leading clients to solutions that help improve their performance;

Building, growing, and mentoring a team of individuals with diverse talents and skill sets;

Evolve the quality of our work through thoughtful design solutions and quality project execution;
Requirements for this role:
Proven ability to win work and lead people;
A minimum 10 years of experience in the design profession;
