Office of Health Care Regulation/Division of Life Safety and Construction
The Illinois Department of Public Health, Office of Health Care Regulation has an opening for an Architect within the Division of Life Safety and Construction/Design and Construction Section. This individual performs architectural duties having responsibility for highly specialized and complex assignments involving drawings and specification reviews and approvals, site approval, construction progress approval, life safety code inspections, building evaluations, regulation development and technical reporting and computer applications. This position is located in the IDPH Springfield Central Office.
Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. Requires a minimum of three years of professional architectural experience. Requires possession of a valid Illinois certificate as a registered architect. Requires thorough knowledge of architectural design theory, principles and practices. Requires extensive knowledge of practical construction problems confronting architects and contractors in the field. Requires the ability to communicate architectural theories and designs to non-technical persons. Requires the ability to evaluate design quality of architectural schemes as developed by practicing and recommend changes, modifications and redesigns. Requires possession of a valid Illinois driver’s license. Requires the ability to travel. Requires the physical ability to climb stair and ladders, and access construction sites. Requires completion of the Certified Fire Inspector One certification program and a Life Safety Code Surveyor certification program within 24 months of hire.
The current salary range for this position is $5,441 - $8,318/per month
