This role will be at our headquarters in Boulder, Colorado. A Senior ICT/Telecommunications Designer has both a project management and technical design focus and is responsible for the design and technical development of a project’s cabling infrastructure, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously. Projects will include inside plant (both horizontal and backbone cabling infrastructures) and outside plant design elements. We expect Senior Designers to help shape the future of K2 and provide insight into new areas of interest.
Responsibilities will include:
Create, develop, and document designs for information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and systems.
Coordinate requirements with design team including architects, electrical/mechanical engineers, and audiovisual/security designers
Perform construction administration and oversight through bidding and construction process
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Be the main point of contact for K2 to rest of design team
Coordinate responsibilities and tasks for K2’s design execution teams assigned to each project
Serve as an advisor and mentor to Designers and Junior Designers
RCDD – Registered Communications Distribution Designer Certification
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience with specialty degree or advanced certification
Understanding of the Construction Process
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Willingness to travel
Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, & Bluebeam
Outside Plant design experience
Data Center experience
Project management experience
