Page is seeking a qualified Sustainability Specialist to join our team in our Washington DC office. The position of Sustainability Specialist will assist in managing the firm's sustainable design efforts for projects, including certification processes such as LEED and client specific high performance efforts. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert to project teams and staff, providing information and expertise regarding sustainable ideas, systems and products, while coordinating with project teams to ensure an integrated design process. This position is directed by the firm’s Director of Sustainable Design and work closely with other Page sustainability experts on not only project work, but in the implementation of internal initiatives including, but not limited to: The integration of sustainability into design efforts; tracking and reporting key performance metrics; Staff training and resource development; and promoting corporate responsibility across the firm’s operations.
Prepare, maintain and submit LEED and other green building certification documentation.
Review certification documentation by others for completeness, clarity and quality and track efforts to meet scheduled milestones and deadlines for submittal.
Coordinate with design team members during all project phases. Document and communicate discussions and resolutions with project team members to align deliverables to the project scope.
Develop and present topics for staff education and grow firm-wide resources aimed at promoting a better integration of high performance and health strategies
Maintain knowledge of all state and federal regulations and relevant professional standards and keep abreast of the latest advancements and strategies around holistic sustainable solutions.
Assist in researching incentive programs to promote the implementation of sustainability in projects.
Create accurate and detailed reports for clients and management.
Help track and maintain project/design data required for 2030 Commitment reporting, AIA Honor Awards, and other industry recognition programs.
The successful candidate will have the ability to evaluate complex projects for compliance with sustainability program goals and performance goals.
Degree in engineering, architecture or related field with 1-5 years of relevant professional experience.
LEED Accreditation with specialty with experience managing sustainability certification processes and working with LEED online. Knowledge of multiple sustainability rating and certification systems preferred.
Experience developing and implementing sustainability concepts and strategies as demonstrated through actual project or program work
Proven effectiveness coordinating with contractors, architectural teams, and consultants.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with familiarity of Revit preferred.
Experience with building performance software preferred including but not limited to: Daylighting; Parametric energy analysis, and Life Cycle Cost Analysis.
Basic knowledge of building systems and construction techniques.
Knowledge of resilient design, material health, and social sustainability issues a plus.
Excellent writing skills.
Analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills.
Detail oriented, self-starter with proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Available for occasional travel within the US.
