Royal Palm Companies is seeking an experienced job captain / project architect at our Miami headquarters. You will join a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence. Royal Palm is a long term Real Estate Developer and creator of the highly successful Paramount Luxury Condominium Residential Brand. Royal Palm is currently engaged in two major mixed use community developments and launching its own hotel brand.
What You Will Do
Planning and programming of residential, hotel or retail projects
Utilize computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans – specifically Revit (required).
Prepare drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project.
Manage and assist with work on all phases of various architectural projects including design development, preparation of presentation drawings and specifications, design review, coordination and correlation of construction drawings and review production drawings and specifications.
Make independent decisions on architectural problems and methods from sound knowledge base
Manage third party relationships and team communication
Assist in preparation of fee proposals and agreements with consultants.
Maintain the project manual and specifications
Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews
Process submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, etc. during construction
Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project
5-10 years of relevant experience as a job captain/project architect Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field
Must have experience with multi-family residential and hospitality (hotel) projects.
Architectural license and LEED accreditation required
General knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in an architectural office is required.

Strategic thinking to address issues and new concepts in design, production of documents, and development of detailing
Demonstrated ability to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be proficient in software applications including AutoCAD Architecture, Sketch-Up, Microsoft Office, Rhino, 3D Rendering (Maxwell, 3D’sMax or other), CRM (Pro-Core, CMiC, Bluebeam or other), Adobe Suite and have knowledge of Revit.
Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and to create technical documents that succinctly describe the work to be done
Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
