Typically leads the initial vision, discover and creative exercises with the client and project team.
Responsible for communicating the design objective(s) of the project and making key design decisions in consort with the client and project team.
Ability to lead design process of complex projects and/or multiple projects efficiently and successfully as well as to work as a team member on project design teams;
Ability to develop and execute design solutions including space planning, design development, construction documents and detailing for primarily interior architecture projects;
Organizes/schedules on-going project pin-ups/reviews and charrettes.
Communicates with and assigns certain, specific design responsibilities to other key project team members
Leads sustainable design objectives including LEED and WELL Building Standards at the project level.
Coordinates work with key consultants such as Engineers and Lighting Designers.
Responsible for adhering to the Project Schedule and Budget parameters for design and deliverables.
Organize a detailed (Design) Project Plan in partnership with the Project Manager to determine staffing needs and project deliverables including ongoing key deadlines and client approval presentations.
Leading strong client relationships;
Perform site inspections, review shop drawings and material submittals and other related construction administration tasks; and
Mentor/coach less experienced staff.
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited university;
10+ years of experience;
NCIDQ or NCARB Certification;
Workplace expertise and workplace industry leadership; Workplace thought leadership
Excellent presentation, drawing and sketching skills;
Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and project management skills;
Proficiency in Revit / Adobe Creative Suite / Microsoft Suite (Other design related programs are a plus);
Thorough knowledge of commercial project design including constructability, project costs, building codes, furniture systems and work place design; and
Motivated self-starter and works well in a collaborative environment.
