ZAD is seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial, and experienced architect who truly understands the process of how buildings are put together. The candidate should be well-versed in managing teams and is willing to provide creative leadership to an established firm. This position has the potential to lead to future stock options and ownership.
A successful candidate will have experience producing design and construction documentation for commercial, mixed-use, and multifamily housing projects with an emphasis on LIHTC funded developments. They will be well-versed interacting with clients and contractors and will understand the sensitivities that are inherent in community-focused projects.
What will your responsibilities be?
As a senior member of the firm, you will…
Perform all aspects of architectural design services (including creating conceptual studies, programming, schematic documents, design development documents, and construction documents, under the direct supervision of the Principal).
Meet with clients to understand project scope and requirements.
Prepare marketing and presentation materials as directed.
Prepare scope and fee proposals.
Direct and supervise the work of Interns, Designers and Project Managers assigned to a project. Must be able to deal with any unusual or difficult problems that may be encountered.
Perform QA/QC review on projects.

What qualifications are we seeking?
The candidate must be a fully licensed architect in at least one US state (preferable in the local jurisdiction). NCARB certification is preferred so as to facilitate licensure through reciprocity. An understanding of sustainable design principles (LEED® AP accreditation preferred) is also encouraged. Additionally, the applicant should be proficient in Revit software and Microsoft Office suite of programs.
