Our Washington DC office currently has an available opening for a Designer/Architect with a minimum of two (2) to five (5+) or more years’ post degree experience in an architecture office. Transit experience preferred. We are a small, progressive design oriented office with locations in Washington DC, Honolulu and Manila. Our projects are diverse, including: urban design, small scale to medium scale architectural projects, and public infrastructure such as bridges and transit projects. Current projects of note in our office now include urban design and planning of major light-rail or heavy-rail transportation projects as well as their architectural components. Enthusiasm, adaptability and an interest in participating as an integral member of our team are prerequisites in order to respond to a range of projects and challenges with fresh insight and innovative solutions. We use the typical tools for design from pencils to VR software to immerse our clients in our creations. Imagine, create, build...repeat.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture required, Master's degree a plus.
Professional architecture experience required and capable of independent judgement and initiative.
Extensive professional Revit Architecture experience required.
3D modeling/rendering, VR modeling, Microstation, Grasshopper experience a plus.
Construction document and Job Captain experience preferred.
Architect license a plus.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Defines program requirements and establishes design parameters based on client requirements and working with senior architect/senior urban designer and project manager.
Creates and develops overall design concepts, schematic, design development and construction documents through detail level; formulates/leads design presentation strategies and makes presentations.
Collaborates with design team members during the implementation of design to ensure clarity and quality of concept is maintained through detail level.
Collaboration with other design/construction disciplines, interacting with client technical staff and client meetings.
