Theatre Projects Consultants, a world leader in theatre design and planning, seeks a full-time Designer for our Connecticut office. We’re growing! This is a new position, available now.
The role includes designing auditorium and seating layouts for new and renovated performing arts spaces. You’ll use your design and graphics skills to create hand sketches and translate them into CAD, or you may design directly in CAD. You’ll plan and lay out building to create and maintain critical adjacencies. You’ll use tact and persuasion in client/architect meetings to advocate for your design decisions for the benefit of the users and the performing arts.

We’re looking for someone with:
Five to ten years of design experience in architecture or the performing arts
An understanding of theatre buildings and theatre equipment
Significant expertise in AutoCAD 2013 or newest version
Familiarity with Revit is highly valued
Strong layout skills and graphic design sensibility
Strong design sense and willingness to passionately defend design decisions
Bachelor’s degree, minimum; Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
Proof of legal right to work in the United States
Fluency in spoken and written English
A sense of humor
Additional Salary Information: Dependent on education and applicable experience.
