Immediate full-time position for Marketing/Office Assistant
KGP design studio is a small Urban Design Architecture firm in Washington, DC, focusing on the public realm and transportation. We are passionate about our role in the transformation as urban areas step up to the current challenges. We are looking for team members to join us and share these goals. Small but impactful, KGP is changing how we move in, around, and experience DC and the region producing facilities such as major urban spaces/corridors, transit and rail stations, active mobility facilities, TOD plans, and bridges.

The full-time position for a Marketing/Office Assistant at our Washington, DC office is immediately open for applicants with the following experience:
Marketing:
Goal - to develop and implement a Strategic Marketing Plan for established as well as potential market groups
Establish and Pursue Government references, ie; local, state, and federal registers – in particular DBE listings.
Track sources such as Dodge Reports Construction Marketing, Data’s (CMD) Early Planning leads, and local construction trade newspapers. Other specific examples are the AIA Website and The Business Commerce Daily.
Develop and organize a digital image library of past projects and reference images of relevant projects, details, or technologies.
Develop and organize the boilerplate text of the firm’s and staff’s capabilities as well as catalog previous proposals as a reference for future proposals.
Research, organize data, and produce proposals as well as other marketing tools. This will include graphic as well as written presentation material using the resources that have been developed. Examples of products are specific project proposals for Architecture and Planning projects, Additions to the firm’s portfolio, and advertising mailers.
The principals and other staff will assist in the design organization, and production of these materials when required.
Public Relations:
Perform tasks in order to be published in the trade press, newspapers, and other media.
Submit projects for awards.
Organize material and manage the development of the firm’s webpage
Determine beneficial target groups and coordinate advertising as a means of getting the firm’s name out.
Participate in establishing contacts for principals and staff (professional and academic) in designing juries, and writing for journals, magazines, and books.
Help establish contacts for principals and staff to participate in professional and charitable organizations, lectured, and other industry events.
Data Resources – Project Oriented:
Develop and organize data libraries (image and text) as well as conduct research for specific projects, from sources such as the web, published resources, or on-site data collection. This will include photo documentation, for example of transit or residential project sites, or collecting product information for particular projects.
Assist in the development and production of Master Plans, reports, or other projects requiring writing skills, data collection, and evaluation. Graphic layout skills will also be required in producing these presentations.
The principals and other staff will assist in the design, organization, and production of these materials when required.
Office / Project AdministrationAssistance
A minimum of time may be required for office administrative support or assisting principals or staff with administrative tasks.
Capabilities
Developed writing skills - synthesizing information and clearly communicating it.
Experienced in graphic programs and composing documents; Preferably experienced in InDesign, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and Word
An interest in architecture, urban design, and transit is preferred.
This position will require a self-motivated person with a real interest and passion to be immersed in the architecture and urban design realm. Equally the ability to thrive in a team setting will be key.

KGP design studio, a design-focused Architecture and Urban Design firm located in DC since 2000. While we are small, we are engaged in a broad range of public and private sector projects, including several high-profile projects in the DC area. Public transit is our focus, including architectural design and planning for transit networks such as Metro or Purple Line to station design for facilities such as Union Station, DC or Penn Station, and NYC.
