Fentress is looking for an Architect II to serve as Field Architect to join our Nashville, Tennessee team.
The Work You'll Be Doing:
The remote nature of this position requires strong leadership and time management skills. You will need to use your ability to build interpersonal relationships as you collaborate with clients, vendors, and Denver-based team members. This means you have strong communication skills that allow you to deliver presentations, attend meetings, and then relay pertinent information back to teammates who then execute deliverables. Design team communication will include establishing team tasks, providing technical design oversight, relating information and checking work progress of team members.
Technical skills required include employing technical and creative skills, specialized knowledge, and a thorough understanding of best practices in building design and construction science in support of appropriate construction document detailing. The position includes responsibility for implementing the Fentress' Quality Assurance program and conformance with our continuous improvement initiative. The position requires an active "hands on" involvement in coordinating the design, construction, regulatory agency coordination, specification coordination, and drawing set organization most effectively meeting project objectives.
The right individual will be working remotely in a design/engineering trailer office complex and on a construction site in Nashville, Tennessee.
What You Need To Do The Work:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university.
A minimum of 5 years of comprehensive relevant architectural experience in the aviation design field that also incudes major transportation projects.
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of design, construction, codes, specifications, and drawing organization.
Possess a state registration as an architect.
Have a working knowledge of owner-architect, owner-contractor, and architect-consultant agreements and the ability to participate in negotiations.
Proven organizational skills and a demonstrated thorough knowledge of the requirements, organization, and production of a schematic, design development, or construction document set.
Possess a working knowledge of REVIT and program management software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Deltek Vision.
Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to stay on top of their emails
Results oriented with roll-up-the-sleeves attitude & proven ability to execute
Strong organization skills and attention to details
Excellent time management skills
Ability to effectively manage and nurture strong client relationships
Interpersonal skills with ability to work within and manage an effective, collaborative team environment
