Responsible for growing the business through direct interaction with customers at the jobsite level by training and facilitating correct product applications as well as auditing and reporting quality of installation for mid-stream customers and LP. To gather and report field trends, measure and optimize construction practices and continually assess\ and improve our products and their respective assemblies. Maintain alliance and alignment with the Field Marketing Team and the Sales organization ensuring common strategic goals and objectives that are linked back to the overall business strategy
Establish the highest level of credibility among our exterior customers and industry(s) as the technically superior manufacturer of innovative and reliable building products
Usher new innovations into market proactively such as new products and new product applications
Utilize lean six sigma tools and other resources practically to continually improve LP and industry processes
Lead product installation training seminars for contractors
Report installation costs and other installation costs to the business
Interface effectively with the Technical Sales Managers, Field Sales Team(s), Legal and Marketing as internal customers and provide strong follow through on initiatives
Maintain superior knowledge of LP products and their application
Understand LP Products function with other building materials related to LP Siding
Prepare for and represent the company at industry trade shows, and consumer shows
Usher LP literature into market and continually explore new media and other platforms to improve company brand
Manage the field installation audit system and regular report results
Lead the proactive process for architectural approval and installation in Specified Construction Segments
Participate in the development/updating of new/current training materials for customers, builders, contractors, distributors, dealers, specifiers and third party officials
Communicate trends and competitive threats promptly and professionally
Troubleshoot issues and attain causation based on sound analysis of facts alone
Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
Perform other duties as necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bi-lingual: English and Spanish is required
Valid driver’s license and solid driving record
Strong understanding of construction process and equipment
Carpentry skills suited to safely instruct installation-training seminars to the trade
Knowledge of builders’ and contractors’ business
Knowledge of lumber yard stocking, shipping, and delivery methods as they relate to LP and competitive products.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and sales skills, including active listening and negotiation skills
Strong organization, planning, and time management skills
Knowledge of customer preferences
Knowledge of LP products and application.
Ability to speak in public and represent the company professionally
Willingness to relocate
Ability to operate effectively within multi-discipline team
Minimum five-years of experience in building products or construction, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
Home office with frequent overnight travel required
Primarily on construction sites
Hands on work with powered equipment
Some work in an office setting, sitting at a desk or computer terminal
Must be able to speak and hear clearly
Must be able to see clearly at close range, arm’s length, and at a distance
Occasionally required to lift objects weighing up to 100lbs. Frequently required to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less
Occasionally is exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and chemical
