The Designer will be intermediate level, working towards the ultimate goal of becoming a licensed architect. This individual must have a minimum of two years of architectural design experience, and a high level of proficiency with Revit is required.
The Designer shall be responsible for the creation and completion of drawings needed for bid, permit, and final construction documents under direction from project manager.
Works in a team environment and collaborates with others
Handles numerous projects at one time, with responsibilities including, but not limited to, space planning and layout, design standards, schedules, and deadlines of projects
Participates in all phases of the planning and design process
Converts redline drawings and hand sketches to finished Revit models and AutoCAD drawings
Understands the basics of construction methodologies and systems; possesses a basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and civil engineering systems
Conducts project analysis and research
Produces accurate work as part of a coordinated project team
Coordinates specifications and drawings, including consultant coordination, and is capable of making collaborative decisions for projects and project teams
Participates in construction administration and works with project leaders on issues affecting budget, construction costs, and schedule
Understands time management and utilizes project management tools
Develops presentation materials to support project team’s design and marketing efforts
Learns and applies office standards of design, quality control, and production
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Bachelor's degree in architecture
Minimum of two years architectural design experience
High level of proficiency with Revit modeling and AutoCAD
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Basic knowledge of New York codes a plus
