Hobstetter Architecture Studio is seeking a junior designer with approximately 3-5 years experience to join our practice. As we are a small studio, the role will be multi-faceted and the designer will be exposed to a variety of tasks and experiences. Responsibilities will include typical architectural design activities at all phases of design: drafting, rendering, and 3d modeling.
Hobstetter Architecture is a LBE (Local Business Entity) and Women owned small business. The open position will involve supporting the Project Architect/Principal in the design and development of project documents in Programming and Concept Design for a public sector project. For this work our studio is teamed with a larger architectural practice through the LBE (Local Business Entity) program. This opportunity will allow the designer to be based in a creative studio environment, while also gaining exposure to large scale work and practice standards.
In addition to the public sector work, the designer will work on various smaller projects including residential and commercial / cultural work. Our studio has the goal of hosting experimental design and art exhibitions in the front of our space and storefront window. The role will involve collaboration in curating and creating work for this space.
Daily tasks will engage in knowledge of design principles, processes, building codes, and methods of construction. Drafting and modeling skills will be required and developed in Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, and Autocad. Junior Designer will be responsible for meeting tasks on assigned deadlines, and communicating work progress to Project Architect / President. Work completed by Designer will be overseen by a licensed Architect.
