PC I’s have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a related field, and have played a role in a minimum of two green building / LEED® projects. LEED accreditation is required within three months of employment. Job Summary: Support Project Managers and others in LEED® / green building consulting projects and conduct general consulting work at the level appropriate to the Project Consultant’s skills and experience. Reporting Relationships: The Project Consultant generally reports directly to a primary Project Manager in the Project Consultant’s office, but will also report to other Project Managers, the Associate Principal or the Managing Principal on specific consulting projects, as appropriate. Responsibilities: 1. Contribute to the facilitation of meetings throughout the life of each project with owners, architects and project managers reviewing project goals and plans. 2. Serve as “assistant project manager” on multiple projects 3. Provide general technical and project support to Project Managers including the following: • Review drawing submissions for LEED / green building compliance • Participate in development of Division 1 and outline specifications, as directed • Perform green building technical analysis and calculations for LEED® compliance (daylight calculations, water calculations, etc.) • Conduct product and technology research • Research products and technology for projects • Prepare technical reports, presentations and other project related documentation • Participate in selected team meetings with, or as a substitute for, the Project Manager • Assist in updating LEED / green building tracking documents • Coordinate with project team members on selected issues • Review project team documentation LEED Online for completeness • Provide assistance to the General Contractor during construction, as needed • Review and track contractor submittals for compliance with LEED / green building specifications 1 The primary differences between a PC I and II are experience in a related field; LEED experience, and, as a PC II, managing small projects on their own. Develop and implement one or more specialized services for multiple projects, examples of which may include the following: • Generate preliminary concept-level energy models • Generate daylight models • Develop green operations and maintenance plans • Develop green tenant improvement guidelines • Review and edit full set of project specifications • Conduct financial ROI analysis for selected strategies 5. Assist Project Managers in design of, and in selected cases, presentation of training sessions, as requested. 6. Develop and organize company-wide consulting tools and “knowledge base” resources not specifically related to individual projects.
