We are looking for a laboratory planner / programmer to join our firm in Philadelphia, Atlanta, St. Louis or Washington, DC. Responsibilities include:
Work with HERA’s team to provide clinical lab programming and planning with some documentation services.
Perform as a lab programmer and planner or lab architect on HERA’s project team, consisting of a Principal or Associate Subject Matter Expert (SME), junior planners, equipment planners and intern architects.
Assist with lab planning and design for clinical lab, public health labs and other processing labs, as part of a team servicing both our institutional clients and our prime architecture client firms.
Work with programming, planning and equipment planning software and tool development.
Lead or assist the team in lab planning-programming and design meetings with Owner’s representatives.
Provide lab planning and / or project architect leadership for clinical and public health lab design.
Contribute to internal development efforts in procuring new lab planning opportunities.

Education: B.S. with major in planning, science, architecture or similar discipline; or B.Arch. or M. Arch.
Experience:Planner, programmer, or architect with a minimum of 8 years in A/E or similar industry, of which, 5 years minimum in lab planning industry.
Work with SME and programming team, and institutional client, often within the context of a larger A/E team
Pre-design & programming using various software including spreadsheet programming, questionnaire development, FileMaker Pro, equipment database, report writing, lean processes, process modelling, etc.
Interest in developing tools for the development and web-based team projects.
Assist in lab programming methodologies and ability to interpret and implement programming document.
Lead / produce reports for predesign studies and master planning.
Lab diagramming, sketching and planning skills.
Revit experience desirable but not required.
Lean six Sigma certification is desirable but not required.
Collaborate within a larger A/E team environment.
Handle varied work assignments concurrently.
Travel to project and client sites.
