HED is seeking a motivated, client focused Technology Designer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the design of complex systems for buildings including experience in information technology, electronic safety and security, and audio-visual system design.
Ideal candidates will understand the proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents and be able to deliver appropriate documentation in addition to having a thorough knowledge of BICSI and AVIXA standards and other codes. Understanding and knowledge in Structured Cabling Systems (Voice/Data Cabling), Security Systems (Surveillance Systems, Physical Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems) and Audio/Visual Systems (Background Music/Overhead Paging Systems, Conference/Ballroom/Boardroom A/V and control systems) is also essential. Candidates must be comfortable leading projects and attending meetings with client stakeholders and architects to discuss project requirements, design concepts and system expectations. Other tasks include editing and developing scope of work narratives (Basis of Design, etc.) coordinating with other in-house disciplines as well as ability to work virtually and communicate efficiently across geographies with multiple project teams.
Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 3 years experience in the design of complex systems for buildings. Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification preferred. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in support of multiple projects is essential. Experience with Revit highly desirable.
