Olson Kundig is seeking a full-time Senior Interior Designer, with a minimum of 10-15 years of experience, who possesses a keen sense of design and graphic skills in concert with excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Developing design concepts, solutions and presentations for residential, hospitality and commercial interiors in collaboration with a diverse staff including firm partners, interior designers and architects.
Managing project design, project budgets, staffing requirements and schedules to meet desired project goals.
Programming design requirements, space planning, verifying compliance of interior code requirements, coordinating interiors with electrical/HVAC systems.
Sourcing, selecting and specifying finishes (architectural exterior/interior), appliances, plumbing fixtures and furnishings,
Preparing drawings, presentations and technical documentation.
Designing and specifying standard and/or custom furnishings and accessories.
Collaborating with in-house purchasing staff regarding the procurement of specified furnishings and accessories.
Reviewing project installations and conducting final punch list of furnishings, artwork and accessories.
Demonstrates flexibility of workstyles; independently, with a team or leading others.
Responsibly manages client and team communication in written and oral form.
Demonstrates excellent time management, multi-tasking and working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Embraces the opportunity to work in an open office environment.
Has an interest and appreciation of the arts, craft and knowledge of modern design.
Proficient in Revit.
Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, CAD and MS Office Suite, and SketchUp.
Training and Experience
Minimum 4-year Degree in Interior Design or equivalent.
Minimum of ten years’ experience working with an architectural or interior design firm.
Strong analytical, conceptual, organizational and time management skills.
Concise, personable verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of furniture, material and building finish products suitable for residential, hospitality or commercial projects.
Must have interior construction knowledge to assist in design detailing and construction documentation.
Knowledge of LEED or Well Building Standards.
NCIDQ certification a plus.
Valid driver’s license.
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Capable of climbing, standing and working on a 6’-0” ladder.
Able to travel domestically or internationally if required by project.
Compensation is hourly, commensurate with experience.
