Foster CM Group is currently seeking a talented manager for employment in the DFW area as Deputy Program Director in the K-12 Education market. Candidate should have broad experience in all aspects of managing construction projects and in the supervision of others working as Project Managers. Candidate will plan and supervise all operations for the program and be responsible for overall cost, schedule and quality performance. Must have a thorough understanding of the responsibilities to both the company and the client as set forth by the contractual agreement. Ability to analyze key performance metrics and indicators to proactively direct program outcomes is essential.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Supporting the Program Director (PD) in the day-to-day operations of the program, effectively becoming an Operations Manager for the program;
Managing budgets, schedules, scope development, design and construction contracts, and controls for projects;
Cost, schedule, safety, and quality performance of the program, including coordinating with Project Controls for detailed status reporting;
Functioning as the Risk Manager for the program;
Attending design reviews, weekly progress and other required meetings, and leading resolution of issues/disagreements;
Providing supervision/guidance for the Project Managers and providing input to the evaluation of their performance;
Establishing a partnership with District administration and staff and with the local school communities;
Attending, participating, and presenting at Board, committee and leadership meetings;
Directing prompt resolution of inquiries, complaints, problems and emergencies that may arise in the course of program execution; and
Fulfilling the role of Program Director in the instance that the PD is not available.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management and/or Engineering required
Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect license preferred
10 years’ experience in Construction Management
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing projects in the K-12 or higher education markets, that include both renovations and new building construction
Experience managing large, complex projects from design concept through construction completion
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/spoken communication skills
Experience as direct supervisor of staff
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Responsive to changing demands
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Ability to work under pressure
Team player mindset, yet comfortable with making independent decisions to achieve the success of the program
