Pedcor Design Group is seeking a candidate for Construction Cost Estimator position, who is a college graduate with a degree in architecture, construction technology, construction management or related fields, with 5 or more years of work experience in the commercial sector and with multi-phased construction cost estimating experience in one or more of the following areas: multi-family mid-rise and high-rise residential; offices; retail; mercantile; restaurant; mixed-use; public spaces; and/or hospitality. The candidate should have working experience in both commercial and interior design cost estimating.

Pedcor Design Group (PDG) is a full service architectural and interior design firm that embraces an extensive BIM model sharing environment with quantity take-off features. We wish to add accurate and detailed cost and quantity estimating in our department as an important element in our BIM environment. We seek a candidate who can design and manage such a program and then monitor its results against actual construction costs.

A commitment to detailed quantity and cost analysis throughout each phase of design
A responsibility for accurate cost estimates before drawings go out for bidding
A constructive and collaborative relationship with contractors, craftsmen, trades and vendors
All projects are within walking and observation distance from PDG’s office
Balanced work-life environment and task assignment diversity
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or a construction related field, or equivalent
5 or more years’ experience in cost estimating of commercial building design
5 or more years commercial construction field experience
DESIRABLE PAST COST ESTIMATING EXPERIENCE:
Experience with mixed-use, retail, office, public spaces, residential or hospitality buildings
Experience with interior tenant improvement build-outs in restaurants, offices, retail or residential
Experience with cost estimates during schematic design, design development and construction documents phases
Experience with CAD/ BIM software quantification tools
Experience in cost estimating structural, civil, mechanical and electrical scopes of work
Administration experience reporting and consulting with field personnel
DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS:
MicroSoft Office Suite, Excel template development – 5 years or more of consecutive experience
CostX, PlanSwift, Sage, MicroSoft Project or similar – 5 years or more of consecutive experience
ArchiCAD – 2 years or more of consecutive experience
AutoCAD – 2 years or more of consecutive experience
Adobe Creative Suite - 2 years or more of consecutive experience
