Want to use your architectural skills to help improve the lives of veterans and all people with disabilities? Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), a mission-oriented organization in Washington, DC, is currently seeking a registered architect to join our architecture department as Project Architect.
Review architectural drawings for accessibility code/statute compliance as well as best practices. Attend design meetings as our accessibility advocate
Answer technical assistance inquiries
Promote barrier-free design by conducting seminars, writing articles, assisting with online course development
Assist with social media ideas to help market PVA Architecture’s work
Licensed architect, currently registered by a state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
3-5 years minimum professional experience solid architectural experience
Thorough knowledge of federal accessibility standards and model building code accessibility guidelines a must
Some graphics software experience and social media knowledge a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills required
