How We Work:
VMDO is a hands-on, service based firm. We offer distinctive design and personalized service to each client based on an in-depth understanding of their goals and needs. Project teams are assigned to each project we undertake, and the team members see the work through from start to finish. Our Principals play a leadership role in every project; their extensive personal interaction with the client and project staff insures the best design possible.
VMDO specializes in design for K-12 public schools and higher education institutions. We design schools because we recognize the impact that architecture has on education and thus, we approach design from the perspective of the educator. No other firm in Virginia can offer the level of in-depth educational programming that we do. The National School Boards Association, Virginia School Boards Association, and several organizations dedicated to improving instruction through design have repeatedly recognized our projects for their response to educational program goals as well as for their aesthetic qualities.
