Delta Engineers, Architects, & Land Surveyors, D.P.C., delivers a diverse array of engineering, architectural, and land surveying services to public and private clients throughout the United States out of four office locations. We are currently seeking an Architect to join our team in our Chevy Chase, MD office to grow with us personally and professionally. The Architect will be responsible for assisting the Project Architect with project coordination from design development through contract administration. He/she may sometimes act in the role of Project Architect on projects of limited scope.
Assist Project Architect with client/project coordination.
Contribute to staff evaluation for reviews conducted by Project Manager/Director.
Assist Project Architect with project management or manage projects of limited scope under supervision of Project Manager/Director.
Coordinate construction document preparation with supervision by Project Manager/Director, including:
Analyzing building/zoning code
Outline document contents with “half size” sets and specification outline
Continually review compliance with design intent, use of materials and coordination with specification
Review work of consultants for coordination purposes
Review documents with building inspectors
Respond to bid inquiries regarding pre-bid approvals
Prepare contract document agenda
Provide assistance in construction administration with supervision of Project Manager/Director, including:
Report on progress meetings
Maintain project status manual
Prepare project correspondence
Conduct on-site observations
Prepare observation reports
Provide additional services such as proposal requests, change orders, revisions to project scope
Assist in project close-out efforts including punch lists.
Meet with governmental agencies or officials for purpose of approvals and permits.
Promote adherence to office standards and procedures.
Promote firm’s reputation through good client relations.
Be responsible for quality of service and project when acting as Project Architect.
Continue education through seminars and participation in professional organization activities.
Assist Project Manager/Group Director or Project Architects in the accomplishment of special assigned tasks.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with a minimum of 5 - 6 years relevant experience; an RA is required. Compensation for this position depends on experience.
